Find a first-shot setting

Choose L81 or SPH-2, then enter a measured distance or the gun and target coordinates. The calculation stays in your browser; the calculator itself does not send your coordinates to a server.

Version warning: these are the site's retained Build 0.11 community tables. The numbers have not been reverified for Season 2; an updated interface does not establish that the tables match the latest patch. Use an observed impact to check a setting before relying on it.

Calculate the first shot.

Enter the measured range in meters. The accepted range depends on the selected weapon.

Flat-ground first-shot reference. Correct after observing the impact.

Distance, direction and elevation are different values

  1. Select the weapon. The L81 table covers 132–684 m. The SPH-2 table covers 780–2,629 m.
  2. For Known distance, enter meters directly. This mode calculates elevation, not a compass direction.
  3. For Map coordinates, enter both X/Y pairs. This calculator assumes one coordinate unit equals 100 m. Check that your map reading uses that scale; do not paste pixel positions or a grid label without converting it.
  4. Read the elevation in mils. Coordinate mode also provides a bearing in degrees and an azimuth on a 6400-mil circle. Azimuth is the direction to turn; it is not the elevation to dial in.
  5. Fire, observe the impact and correct. Use Copy fire command to pass the current solution to a teammate. If clipboard access is blocked, the selectable command remains below the button.

At gun (0, 0) and target (3, 4), the assumed scale gives 500 m, approximately 36.9° bearing and 655 mil azimuth. Swapping the positions reverses the direction without changing the distance.

A firing table is not a terrain solver

The table does not automatically compensate for height differences, a tilted vehicle, obstacles, observation errors or later balance changes. Level the SPH-2 before using its values. A valid numerical solution does not guarantee that the projectile clears a building or ridge.

SPH-2 has a high-arc entry from 780 m; its low-arc table starts at 1,181 m. Below that distance, the absence of a low solution is intentional. At the maximum range, duplicate high-arc entries are displayed as a mil interval rather than reduced to an invented single answer.

Blank fields do not mean zero. Outside the supported distance ranges, the calculator shows no firing solution and disables copying. It interpolates within a table; it does not extrapolate beyond it.

Common questions

Why is no bearing shown with a known distance?

A distance alone cannot locate a target. Enter both coordinate pairs to calculate direction.

Does this account for a target uphill?

No. These are flat-ground reference values. An uphill or downhill shot needs observed corrections, not a made-up height adjustment.

Does a result prove the table works in the latest patch?

No. The historical build label applies to the data, even when the interface or this explanation has been updated. There is no claim of a new live-patch ballistic verification.

Sources and verification

Developer information and community observations are labelled separately. A player report is not a guarantee from the developer. Use the stated source-check dates; a later page edit does not recheck the underlying game data.
