How a WARDOGS match is won

Three teams fight around a randomized 2 × 2 km Control Zone inside the larger map. Every 30 seconds, the team with the most players in the zone earns one point. The first team to 100 points wins.

Winning pressureplayers in zone + sustainable spawns + supplied transport

Kills matter when they remove enemy presence or protect your team's route. A long-range fight far from the zone can feel productive while contributing nothing to the next scoring tick.

Choose a useful first loadout

Safer first choice

Rifle + medical basics

Stay with infantry, learn the pace of fights and help recover teammates. Keep the kit inexpensive until you know how quickly equipment can be lost.

Useful without top aim

Spotting or logistics tools

Mark visible threats, ride with a supply run or help build what an experienced player requests. Confirm the job before purchasing specialist equipment.

  • Can you explain the job of every purchased item?
  • Will losing this loadout still leave money for several more lives?
  • Are you buying ammunition compatible with the weapon?
  • Does the squad need this role, or would another rifle be more useful?

Four beginner jobs that teach the game

Learn movement

Squad rifle

Follow the squad leader, watch a different direction from your teammates and fight for ground the team can hold.

Learn team tempo

Medic support

Carry smoke, approach casualties from cover and revive only when the position is safe enough to keep both players alive.

Learn information

Spotter

Mark enemies and vehicles your team can act on. A useful mark describes a threat and improves a nearby decision.

Learn the map

Logistics passenger

Ride with an experienced driver, help unload and build, and observe how FOB placement shortens the route to the objective.

Seven mistakes that make the first match harder

  • Walking from the rear alone. Wait briefly for transport or redeploy with a moving group.
  • Spending the full starting balance. Expensive equipment does not survive poor positioning.
  • Giving up instantly. A revive protects your loadout and keeps the squad together.
  • Buying a helicopter to practise. Learn aircraft controls in the range before risking team cash and passengers.
  • Ignoring the Control Zone. The team scores through presence, not total kills.
  • Building without a plan. Supplies are valuable; ask what the FOB needs first.
  • Playing without voice or pings. Even a short warning can save more money than another attachment.

Common questions

Which faction should a beginner choose?

Choose the side with room for your friends or the squad you want to join. Learning the shared match systems matters more than optimizing an early faction choice.

Do I need a microphone?

You can play without one, but proximity and squad voice make transport, revives and objective pushes much easier. Listen even if you only make essential callouts.

What should I unlock first?

Unlock equipment for the role you can perform repeatedly. A practical medical, spotting or infantry tool is more valuable than an expensive item you cannot afford each life.
