Build a useful FOB in the right order

  1. 01

Choose a route, not a landmark

Place the FOB near a repeatable road or flight path with cover from direct observation. It must be reachable by logistics and useful to infantry moving toward the zone.

  2. 02

    Confirm the construction radius

Place the FOB foundation or box, then keep incoming pallets and planned structures inside the active build area. Do not unload first and discover the materials cannot be used.

  3. 03

    Secure the spawn function

Prioritize what creates a sustainable forward presence. A decorative perimeter has little value if the team cannot spawn, resupply or move out safely.

  4. 04

    Build for the actual threat

Use cover, firing positions and obstacles to protect likely approaches. Avoid sealing your own vehicles or creating one predictable exit.

  5. 05

    Leave a logistics lane

Keep a clear place for ground vehicles or aircraft to deliver the next load without blocking the spawn area or exposing everyone nearby.

Understand what the FOB is asking for

Community guides identify four practical supply categories: building, ammunition, fuel and mechanical. The current UI is the authority for which resource a structure or vehicle needs.

Building suppliesUsed to create and expand structures. Bring these when the planned construction has been agreed.
Ammunition suppliesSustain weapons and rearming. Deliver them to an active position, not an empty rear base.
Fuel suppliesSupport fuel-dependent operations. Confirm demand before dedicating a transport run.
Mechanical suppliesSupport vehicle and repair needs described by the current build and UI.

Pallets and crates are not interchangeable assumptions

Community reports distinguish bulk pallets used for FOB logistics from smaller carried resources. Check the item label and intended destination. If the map lets you inspect or hover the FOB icon, use that information to load what is missing rather than guessing.

Keep the FOB useful after construction

  • Assign someone to watch the logistics approach while the rest move forward.
  • Move unused vehicles away from spawn and unloading lanes.
  • Deliver the resource that is low, not another copy of what is already abundant.
  • Defend from outside the core when possible so one enemy push does not discover everything at once.
  • Stop investing when the Control Zone shifts or the route no longer matters.
  • Tell the team what the FOB can provide and which direction is threatened.

Common FOB mistakes

  • Building directly on the obvious approach. The enemy sees the logistics traffic and follows it to the base.
  • Unloading outside the radius. Materials can be present but unusable for the planned structure.
  • Constructing before securing. Builders focused on menus and hammers are easy to remove.
  • Spending every pallet immediately. Keep capacity for the structure or repair the team will need next.
  • Fortifying the wrong battle. A large rear FOB does not score when the active zone is elsewhere.

Common questions

Where should I place the first FOB?

Close enough to shorten the objective route, far enough to avoid immediate observation, and on a supply path your team can repeat. There is no universally correct distance because the Control Zone and terrain change.

How do I know which supplies to bring?

Inspect the current FOB information and ask the builders. Exact needs depend on what is planned and what the base has already consumed.

Should I build every available structure?

No. Build the smallest useful system first, then expand in response to traffic and threats. Every unnecessary structure consumes resources and attention.
